Valentine’s Day is early next week, and that means it’s time for some fandom ‘shipping in Fan Art Friday! The last time I did a “Couples” feature was way back in 2009, so I think it’s time to shine the spotlight on another roundup of awesome fictional couples, as depicted by their artistic fans.

I love seeing all kinds of creative fan art, but I especially like to see seemingly unrelated (or overtly related) fandoms collide with crazy crossovers. I’ve featured crossover fan art twice before, and it’s just about time that we had a third dose!

One year is ending as another begins, and it seems like a perfect time to feature the spirit of rebirth in the X-Men universe, Jean Grey, aka Phoenix! Check out this assortment of great fan created art as we bid adieu to 2011 and head into 2012.

This week we read from the mailbag, and then we discuss X-Men: First Class, the Doctor Who midseason finale, and L.A. Noire.

X-Men: First Class is in theaters this weekend, dialing the clock back on Professor X and Magneto to show what they were like before they pursued their own separate agendas. In honor of the classic mutant villain we all know and love to hate, this week’s Fan Art Friday shows off some great fan-made work featuring the master of magnetism.

With studios reluctant to commit to original ideas these days, sequels and remakes are all the rage. Here’s a look at five upcoming TV and movie adaptations that already look dire enough to cause alarm.

This week we talk about some upcoming TV shows and movies, the latest episodes of Fringe and Nikita, and more!

This week’s Fan Art Friday doesn’t focus on one fandom or character in particular. Instead it’s a celebration of fans’ creativity when they throw their fandoms together to create some unexpected crossovers!

We’ve seen most of our favorite Marvel characters leap from the page to the screen successfully played by actors who were seemingly born for the roles. But they weren’t all ideal — some of the casting was less than par. I want to turn back the hands of time and re-cast some of the poorly-cast roles in Marvel’s motion picture catalog.
