A Serenity fan on LiveJournal went to the Hub Conventions Serenity event this past weekend and reported some interesting news from guest Ron Glass (Shepherd Book from Firefly and Serenity). Review: Serenity Better Days #2

The second issue of Joss Whedon’s new Serenity prequel series hit this week, and it continues an unsettlingly upbeat tale of the Firefly class ship and her crew. New Firefly Box Set Coming

Kaylee

Jewel Staite was a guest at the Supanova Expo in Melbourne, Australia, this weekend. During her Q&A, she mentioned that a new special edition Firefly box set is coming. She didn’t share any details about the rerelease other than that she’s been asked to provide a commentary for it in the spring. Online speculation is that this could be a high-def format of the series, but only time will tell. It seems like a no-brainer that a new Firefly release would be coming, given the first DVD set’s huge, movie-prompting success. Serenity2.net has the YouTube video of Jewel’s session.
