In a brief calm in the storm of huge, triple-A game releases, we have a week with some interesting new games, but nothing that looks like it’ll steal the thunder of anything else that’s been releasing this month. Probably the biggest release of the week is the new downloadable content for Modern Warfare 2, but you’ll also find some PSP-based Dead or Alive and even a TV-to-game adaptation.
Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package (DLC)
The first add-on pack for Modern Warfare 2, priced at $15, includes five new maps. Three are brand new levels, while two are remakes of previous Modern Warfare environments. Dust off those rifles, and get ready for some more multiplayer action!
Dead or Alive Paradise (PSP)
The newest release in the Dead or Alive franchise is a visit back to the beaches of the previous volleyball games, this time exclusively on the PSP.
Prison Break: The Conspiracy (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
Written and voiced by the folks behind the TV show, this is a new action / adventure game that takes you into the world of Prison Break.
WarioWare D.I.Y. (DS)
The WarioWare series on the Nintendo DS is popular for its crazy array of microgames. This time around, Nintendo puts the power in the players’ hands, allowing you to create your own microgames.
Wait wait wait, there’s going to be a new DoA game, but for the PSP only? Whose dumb idea was this!!!!??? So what if its just more beach volleyball in physics defying bikinis… don’t they realize that I am having some serious DoA withdrawl?
