It’s no big surprise that third party companies will be putting out accessories for the upcoming Xbox One, and Mad Catz’s confirmation today that they will be among the companies developing products for the system is similarly unsurprising. Mad Catz has made quality controllers and add-ons for previous systems, so it makes sense that they would be on board for the new generation. Mad Catz’s President and CEO, Darren Richardson, said:
“We are eagerly looking forward to the upcoming launch of the Xbox One and excited about the opportunity to develop a range of innovative products to support the platform. The launch of the Xbox One adds a new revenue stream and the enhanced performance of the Xbox One opens up additional scope for innovation. Today’s announcement demonstrates our continued support of Microsoft’s console and entertainment business and is part of our long-term strategy to bring innovative products to passionate gamers.”
There are no details yet about what sorts of products Mad Catz will be making, but new controllers, headsets, driving wheels, and music peripherals would be good guesses.
