Rumors have been circling for a while that Johnny Depp would be stepping into the shadows to play the vampiric Barnabus Collins in the film adaptation of the long running horror / soap TV series from the late 60’s. Depp still isn’t confirmed for the role, but Get Smart director Peter Segal did confirm this weekend that Tim Burton is set to direct the movie. This makes the Depp casting seem all that more certain, as whither Burton goest, Depp usually follows. John August is writing the script for the adaptation.
