In an entirely unsurprising but still disappointing announcement, Fox has pulled the plug on Dollhouse. The series has shown strong DVR numbers, but that wasn’t enough for Fox, who seem to be running mostly with the traditional live airing ratings, which have been pretty sad throughout this season. Dollhouse is the latest in a long string of smart genre shows to meet its untimely demise in the 9pm Friday slot on Fox, and it will join the likes of Firefly, Wonderfalls, and Brimstone in the Fox graveyard. To be fair, Fox did give advance notice to creator Joss Whedon, who will be able to wrap up the story with a big finish in the thirteenth and final episode of season two.
