
I have a background in psychology and have always been drawn to studying serial killers. I was already familiar with the Green River Killer case and found it intriguing when I learned that the detective’s son wrote this story. For me, it brings a certain emotional aspect to the storytelling that wouldn’t be there without the familial connection.

Dragon*Con is a convention held every Labor Day weekend in downtown Atlanta, covering everything from science fiction to comic books to fantasy to anime. This year it celebrated its 25th Anniversary. It was my fourth year attending and it surely wasn’t my last. Here are my top ten favorite moments from this year.

While perusing my cable’s On Demand channel I stumbled upon a nice little series of web shorts by the Syfy network called The Mercury Men. Writer/director Christopher Preksta produced the six- to nine-minute webisodes. It’s the story of men from the planet Mercury who have come to Earth to do us harm.

Sci-fi geekettes get ready! Her Universe will be at Dragon*Con 2011. As a fellow sci-fi geekette I understand how difficult it can be to find clothes that we love that fit us. If you’re a female fan of Star Wars and Syfy’s Battlestar Galactica and Warehouse 13 then Her Universe has the clothing for you.

Hans Zimmer’s music is absolutely beautiful, amazingly descriptive and emotionally compelling. When I listen to it I’m taken to a different world. In the case of this particular soundtrack, I’m taken to several different worlds.
