I’m not a big fan of New Year’s Eve. But every year around this time, I can’t help but get swept up in the excitement for what is to come in the next year. So in no particular order of time or release date (because my mind doesn’t work that logically), here’s a brief rundown of what I’m looking forward to most in 2012.

I suppose it had to happen eventually, but here at the end of a great mini-series, prequel-itis finally gets the better of us. Now it’s time to make sure that all of the story lines and character paths line up neatly so as not to contradict the two “Epitaph” episodes of the show.

When I was looking over the blog posts for Day 22 – Day 28, it suddenly hit me that over the course of that week, I only actually managed to see two movies!

Steve Niles knew that no matter where or when you set a “Thing” story, the most important elements are the characters and an overwhelming sense of paranoia.

Throughout the course of the 500 Days, I will be visiting every cinema and every screen in the Republic of Ireland, but the first 21 days were pretty much spent in the confines of Dublin.

The fourth issue of Dollhouse: Epitaphs is, again, an issue of two halves. But one half is not equal to the other. The issue is divided between the ongoing adventures of Mag, Zone, and Griff, who we know will make it through and find the Dollhouse, and the story of Alpha’s new evolution.

After discovering that there are 439 cinema screens in the Republic of Ireland, it didn’t take me too long to decide that I should see a movie on every screen in the Republic of Ireland, in 500 days.

Though this is the most basic version of the Battlestar Galactica themes and tunes that you’re ever likely to hear, these “simplified” versions still represent an intellect and emotion that is missing from most mainstream television shows.

Issue 3 of Dollhouse: Epitaphs brings us one step closer to the inevitable appearance of Echo and shows us more of Alpha’s journey to the shepherd of lost minds that we see in the second episode of Epitaphs.

I was lucky enough to be able to score an interview with Terry Moore and ask him a few questions about his new ongoing series, Rachel Rising, and his plans for the book.
