There’s no question that the biggest gaming release this week is Bioware’s newest epic role-playing saga, Mass Effect 2. With it coming out for the Xbox 360 and PC only, however, it stands to reason that companies would be giving the Wii and the Playstation 3 some love this week as well. Here’s a look at the biggest game releases of the week.
- Mass Effect 2 – Following on the heels of the crazily addictive and successful Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware is unleashing yet another uber-RPG upon the masses. This one is the second in a planned trilogy of games and is sure to eat many hours of gamers’ lives when it releases this week on the PC and 360.
- MAG – The big Playstation 3 release this week is the much anticipated MAG, a massively multiplayer shooter that pits 256 players against each other at a time. It’s not called Massive Action Game for nothin’!
- No More Heroes 2 – Travis Touchdown’s first adventure on the Wii was a surprise cult hit, and now he’s back for more in the sequel.
- Blood Bowl – A turn based sports game set in the Warhammer universe, Blood Bowl already has a devoted fanbase from its days as a tabletop game. It makes the leap to consoles this week with a release on the Xbox 360.

I really hadn’t heard much about MAG, and definitely didn’t know that’s what it stood for, but some guys at work have really been talking it up lately. We all like to play stuff like MW2 online, so it sounds fairly interesting. I’ll probably check it out…but I’m cheap, so I’m sure I won’t buy it.
