Battlestar Galactica showrunner Ron Moore is busy at work with Starz to develop an adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s bestselling Outlander books as an ongoing TV series. The Outlander series is a time travel romance / adventure that has a World War II field nurse accidentally falling back to 1743 Scotland. The series began with the first novel, Outlander, published in 1991, and the eighth book, Written in My Heart’s Own Blood, is slated for release later this year. For the show’s first season Starz has ordered 16 episodes, nearly twice the length of Starz’s typical seasons. Production is scheduled to begin in October in Scotland.
