Sometimes, a show will come along and it will be so off the wall you can’t stop watching it. The characters on that show will be equally interesting and you find yourself liking them very much. I feel this way about Fox’s Sleepy Hollow. Excuse the colloquialism, but that show is totally trippin’. The main male hero of the show is just as crazy and devastatingly handsome.
Who is He?
Ichabod Crane is played by Tom Mison on Fox’s primetime show Sleepy Hollow. It’s loosely based off the classic story by Washington Irving. Crane is put into mystic sleep by his bewitching wife to keep him alive. He wakes up 250 years later and teams up with Lt. Abbie Mills to defeat the Horseman and other evil forces awakened by a demon. Before he was made into a human popsicle, he was a former Oxford professor and a soldier in George Washington’s army.
Fun Fact:
Ichabod is a man of many talents: he speaks multiple languages, possesses an eidetic memory, and can wield a sword.
Why So Crushworthy?
The man is in dire need of a change of clothes but he is still gorgeous. I mean, how have those rags he wears not disintegrated already? I know fabric can last a long time but those clothes have gone through some serious wear and tear. Anyway, Ichabod is incredibly good looking and an awesome character besides. He is brave and willing to sacrifice himself to destroy evil. He doesn’t just talk about taking out the bad guys, he takes action. He’s different than the timid schoolmaster from the book. He has a sharp wit and is a man of limitless action.
Another big point in his favor is his devotion and love for Katrina. I am sure there are shippers who want Abbie and Ichabod together. If that happens, I’m sure he will be just as devoted. But here is a man who is still madly in love with his wife after 250 years. He went to purgatory to save her and is still trying to free her from the clutches of evil. He won’t stop until she is back at his side. The two appeared to have a healthy and loving relationship before the Horseman came along. Additionally, Ichabod is a loyal friend. He truly cares about Abbie and her sister. He wouldn’t leave them behind in a scary situation. He’s a character I can cheer on each episode. Ichabod really is a stand up guy with a fantastic accent.
