Eaglemoss’ line of Classic Marvel Figurines continues to grow with new releases every month. This week I picked up the newest domestic releases: Cable, Black Bolt, Dormammu, and Electro. I’ll be featuring Cable today, Dormammu tomorrow, Black Bolt on Monday, and Electro on Tuesday to get through all of them. First up is a look at the Cable figurine.
As far as bang for your buck goes, you can’t do a lot better than this series. Most of the releases have a suggested retail price of $12, and that will get you not only the lead figurine but also a magazine-size book about the character’s history in Marvel comics. Cable is in scale with the rest of the line and stands about 3.5″ tall. All the CMF pieces tend to present the characters in museum poses, and such is the case with Cable here as he stands posed for action with a big honkin’ gun at the ready.
The small scale of these guys, not to mention the low price point, forces me to be a little more lenient with these figurines than I’d be with bigger, more expensive statues. The paint applications rarely are perfect, but it’s also rare that you’ll find something glaringly bad when the piece is in a typical display. It’s only once you look really closely that the imperfections really stand out, which makes it a little hard to photograph them. But photograph Cable I have, and you can check out the rest of the pics here:
