It’s been a rough year for Black Bolt in Marvel Comics, with the revelation that at some point between the Kree-Skrull War and now, he was replaced by an evil Super-Skrull shapeshifter. It seems only fitting that Eaglemoss should now honor him with his own lead figurine.
These figurines are fantastic little collectibles. They’re all around 3.5″ tall, just about the right size if you ever feel inclined to put together a Marvel chess set, and they’re economically priced at $12 for most of the standard figures. As a bonus, each of the pieces in the series comes with a magazine sized booklet detailing the character’s life and history in the comics.
The Black Bolt figurine strikes a suitably defiant pose and looks really good on display. If you examine him very closely, chances are that you’ll find the same sorts of paint blemishes that appear on most of the other Classic Marvel Figurines, but these little guys always seem to rise above the imperfections that come alongside their small scale.
