Fans of turn based 4X games have been looking forward to Firaxis’ next endeavor since it was announced at the last PAX East convention, and now we have some more concrete details. Civilization Beyond Earth is slated for release on October 24, 2014. Mercifully, that’s an unusual Friday release date. Most games hit on Tuesdays, but Firaxis knows what’s up and is giving us the weekend to sink into the game instead of forcing folks to stay home from work and fake being sick so that they can plunder the stars. In addition to announcing a release date, they also have dropped a new video that gives a brief inside look at the game itself.
