AN[OTHER M]: A Metroid Inspired EP Kickstarter by Sammus

After two successful albums, Sammus is finally Kickstarting an EP specifically about her heroine and namesake, Samus Aran from Metroid. The title of the album, AN[OTHER M], is a reference both to the game Metroid: Other M and the fact that her own name has an extra “M” in it. It’s been ages since I’ve played the original Metroid (the only one I’ve played), but I’m really looking forward to hearing Sammus’s beats and vocals no matter the topic.

What I’m Getting

I’m going with the $55 level for this one. I’ve been meaning to pick up Sammus’s other albums, so that level gets me a USB drive with them on it. In addition, this level gets the new CD (signed in an actual jewel case), a t-shirt, an exclusive track from DJ Cutman, a poster, a sticker, and the digital version three weeks before everyone else.

What Else Is Available

If you’re just interested in the EP, you have several options depending on whether you want physical media or not. For $5, you can get the digital version, while $10 gets you a USB drive with the digital version (plus a sticker), and $20 gets a CD sleeve with a poster and sticker.

At the other extreme, there’s a Limited Edition Package for $350 with limited editions (of two!) of pretty much everything else on the list of perks. For $250 you can get a custom instrumental beat by Sammus using a Metroid song of your choice. Another really cool level is the $100 with a custom Sammus figurine / USB drive that also includes Sammus’s videos (in addition to the stuff at the $55 level). As of the time I write this, there are only four of those left, so get on that if you want one!

What Else Is Cool

Well, first of all, Sammus was just awesome at Nerdapalooza, so I love being able to support her in this way! Also, the stretch goal of $5000 will allow Sammus to make another music video from the new album.
