Top 10 Scariest/Creepiest Enemies in Fallout: New Vegas

As I mentioned in my last video game post, Fallout: New Vegas is the creepiest game I’ve played. I did places last time so this time I’m doing enemies. These are totally scarier than any place in FO:NV. Some of these you want to avoid at all costs until you can snipe at them from far away.

10. Radscorpion

These things are ugly, fast, and hard to kill at low levels. Like other enemies, they come in multiple types, with the queen being the hardest.

9. Feral Ghoul

These are humans turned into zombies. Some Ghouls are not feral and you can even recruit one. Many of the feral ghouls are fast and some even explode with radioactive goo when they die.

8. Super Mutants/Nightkin

These are humans turned into mutants by FEV. They served the Master until he died. Nightkin use Stealth Boys to hide from sight. Both are hard to kill and hit like trucks.

7. Cazador

Mutated Tarantula hawk wasps. They fly fast, poison you, and if you use guns, are hard to target unless you use V.A.T.S.

6. Nightstalker

A hybrid of rattlesnake and coyote DNA. They aren’t hard to kill, per say, it’s just that they come in packs and come at you quickly. If they get into melee range, and you use a gun, it’s hard to get them off you quickly.

5. Centaur

These were also created by the Master using human, dogs, and other kinds of animals using the FEV virus. They are just creepy to look at and apparently hard to kill.

4. Lakelurk

Lakelurks are mutant snapping turtles. They live in fresh water and like to sneak up on unsuspecting Courier’s and try to kill them.

3. Yao guai

Yao guai are mutated black bears. Normal black bears are something to be avoided anyway, so mutated ones should be as well. Unfortunately, in the DLC Honest Hearts, you have to fight them at various points.

2. Ghost People

I almost made Ghost people number one, but I decided that they weren’t that scary. They are hard to kill, you have to dismember them, disintegrated them or have them eaten by Dog. They can sneak up on you easily and travel in packs. The creepiest thing about them is that they are workers from Sierra Madre who got stuck inside the suits.

1. Deathclaw

These things are the bane of any Fallout game. They are large, fast, travel in packs, and some variants can one-shot you. They are a mutation of some type of lizard, made before the Great War to replace humans in dangerous situations. The worst ones are probably Deathclaw mother, Legendary Deathclaw, the Divide Deathclaws, and Stripe in Old World Blues.

Special Mention: Gojira

Gojira (play on Godzilla just in case you didn’t get it), was cut from the game. Probably because he is the strongest creature in the game, taking out even the Legendary Deathclaw.

About the Author
From a young age, Nikki would read any book placed in front of her and has always had an interest in writing. She saw Sailor Moon, Red Dwarf, and Highlander (to name a few shows) on TV and they got her more interested in anime and sci-fi, which led to fantasy, her favorite genre. Right now Nikki is devouring anything Middle Earth related and has very much fallen in love with Tolkien's world. Nikki plays a lot of video games ranging from Final Fantasy to Mass Effect to Assassin's Creed III. Nikki has also written her first book! You can find it here if you're interested. She is currently planning another novel.

Gojira is actually the Japanese word for Godzilla. Great article btw.

Great ratings, but I’d rate the ghost people at #1 because they feel so unnatural. Deathclaws are powerful, but there’s something about mutated human victims trapped inside broken suits that lurch around, seemingly resurrect themselves, and slash at you with rusted knives and bear traps in a toxic city that puts their creepiness factor a notch above that of deathclaws.

@Atticus: No my dearest probably not so close friend. Cazadors are scarier by default. Don’t question it just accept it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO THIS LIST IS FUCKING WRONG. Well a bit atleast. Cazadors should be number one. They are clearly scarier and deadlier than deathclaws.
