Doctor Carson is driving the ammunition group back to Rick at the beginning of The Walking Dead Issue #124. As they roll in, they turn on the headlights and see walkers everywhere — right before they are shot at. Darkness has fallen, and even Negan can’t believe the chaos it’s causing. Meanwhile, Rick, who has been shot by Dwight with an arrow, is being helped to safety when they, too, are attacked by a Savior. As Carl and Nicholas struggle to pull Rick inside, Negan and his crew advance.

Luckily, Michonne and Ezekiel have devised a plan. They start multiple cars, their lights on, and all of the Saviors are revealed. And the good guys let loose on taking them down. Negan calls for his men to retreat. Meanwhile, the ammunition group rigs their van to have the horn blaring while they sneak up on Donnie, Negan’s sniper on the roof, and push him over. They will wait on the roof until sunrise when they will return to the Hilltop.
Unfortunately, walkers just keep coming towards the good guys. After the sounds they made to save themselves, it isn’t going to end. And, even more unfortunate, those wounded by the Saviors are developing fevers. After they discover a weapon with dried blood, they realize what has happened. Negan’s plan has worked. That is, for everyone but Rick.
Negan and Dwight are camped out close by with their group. Of course, Negan thinks it’s OK to be so close because Rick is dying. He is just waiting for him to be fully dead so he can desecrate his body.
The momentum is building, finally, in this war. And in Issue #125, you will see, finally, where we may end up…
