Hey there, fans! This week, after a hectic adventure in National Harbor, MD, I am finally joining the band-wagon in Fandomania’s theme of the month: TIME TRAVEL! But, because of time constraints (ha ha ha) in my own schedule, I can only leave you with this little AMV (animated music video), or, according to the site, a MAD movie, to boil down the entire plotline of a movie into a mere six minutes (sorta)!
From Japanator’s Monday MADness column, this is Qwaqa’s “Time” AMV:
Of course, this little video is nothing compared to the movie itself. Directed by Mamoru Hosoda, the same guy who did Summer Wars and Digimon: The Movie, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time is the story of a school girl named Makoto Konno who inadvertently fuses with a small time-travel machine, and finds that, by taking a running start and a flying leap, she can travel backwards and forwards through time. Instead of doing the usual time-traveling tasks, like killing Hitler, she attempts to fix the little, everyday blunders that she goes through. However, her actions are not without consequence, as she finds that meddling with time does take its toll. It’s a great movie, beautifully animated, and worthy of all of the awards it won back in 2006.
So, see you later fans, and I hope that you don’t get erased by a time paradox!
