Geeky Christmas Music and Videos for 2016

For this year, I’ve decided to include some geeky videos that aren’t necessarily musical. But don’t worry, there are plenty of new tunes to add to your Christmas playlist. So let’s get to it, then, shall we?

Darth Vader Yule Log Five Hours

So, yeah, this exists. Put it on in the background when family are around. See if they notice!

A Stranger Things Christmas – OnlyLeigh

An absolutely amazing mash-up of A Charlie Brown Christmas and Stranger Things. Just go watch it if you haven’t already done so!

The Dedicated Servers – 1225 Dave Hands MC Elf Costume

As of right now, there are no videos for this, so I’ll just post the whole album here. Man, I’m so glad to have this album for Christmas. There’s some really great stuff here.

Bedford Level Experiment – “A Commodore 64 Christmas”

Yeah, I’m quite certain a C64 was on my wish list for Christmas at one time. But I honestly don’t remember if I got mine then or some other time. I do, however, kinda wish I still had it. They were pretty great!

Megathruster – “1985 Sears Christmas Catalog”

Yeah, I’m positive that I used this for gift ideas. And many of the items in this song were on my wish list for sure. Ah, nostalgia!

The PDX Broadsides – “Humbug” and “’Tis a Gift to Be a Goblin”

Every year, I try to escape the madness of gift giving, but somehow I get pulled back in. I really wish I could just sit and humbug with my wife (although I do enjoy some weird Christmas beer and eggnog…). In addition to bringing us this wonderful new Christmas tradition, the PDX Broadsides also give us a tribute to David Bowie via Jareth from Labyrinth in a “parody” of “Simple Gifts.” Love it! (Though I gotta add: 2016 sucks!)

“Knight Rider Christmas”

OK, I have no clue who this is or any other details, but this is exactly what you hope it would be: the Knight Rider theme with a rap about K.I.T.T and Michael saving Christmas. Totally tubular, dude!

Kraken Not Stirred – “The Atheist’s Christmas”

Yup, this is exactly what my Christmas is like. Exactly (for varying definitions of “exactly”).

Smashy Claw – “Christmunks”

Gotta love hypocrisy on Christmas, right? Especially when it’s brought to you by cute little chipmunks. Um, wait, what? Yeah, just go watch the video (and then check out Smashy Claw’s Christmas EP, Snow and Sadness).

They Might Be Giants – “Christmas in the Big House”

Just a nice quiet night staring out the window, smoking rubber cigars, and dreaming of escape. The perfect crime — Christmas… I mean Christmas…

Koo Koo Kanga Roo – “Please Come To My Christmas Party”

Hands up if you want to go to a Koo Koo Kanga Roo Christmas party! I know I do!

Psychostick – “N.O.E.L.” (System of a Down B.Y.O.B. Christmas Parody Song)

How can you not love a song which includes the line “MURDERING FOR SAVINGS!” (yes, in all caps because… System of a Down, of course!)? Answer: you can’t. Awesome!

Meri Amber – “Everything Is Christmas”

Yes, it’s the “Everything Is Awesome” parody you’ve been waiting for. At least since Halloween. Meri also has some other Christmas songs on her channel, including “All I Want for Christmas Is Food” so check those out as well.

The Library Bards – “Pikachu, Red-Cheeked Mouse Thing!”

Once again, The Library Bards bring us a not-quite-Christmas-but-sorta parody. Can you guess what it is? Yeah, of course you can! And it’s so good, too!

Matt Griffo – “Too Much Christmas”

I ran across this one because the “Christmas Tree Lad” (who you will recognize, I do believe) mentioned it. It’s definitely going into heavy rotation here on my Christmas playlist. Thanks, Ian!

The Doubleclicks – “Wherever You Are on Christmas (Nerd Christmas Song)”

Even if it’s in a fictional place, I wanna be with you on Christmas. Yup, it truly is the nerd Christmas song. So good!

bedford level experiment, Dedicated Servers, Koo Koo Kanga Roo, kraken not stirred, Lists, matt griffo, megathruster, meri amber, onlyleigh, psychostick, smashy claw, star wars, the doubleclicks, the library bards, The PDX Broadsides, They Might Be Giants
