On the last day of 2008 we’re taking a look back at our 10 most popular posts from the previous year. For one reason or another, all of these posts got significant traffic and, in some cases, generated a whole lot of discussion!
- Get Rid of Your Pesky Heroes With Ten Cans of Anti-Heroes
John’s controversial list of anti-heroes is the most visited article on Fandomania to date, and it’s also the most commented.
- Nobody Likes A Smartass, But You’ve Gotta Love These Ten
Originally posted back in July, this list is still getting a large amount of traffic.
- Fandomestic: 10 Cozy Star Wars Knit Hats
Celeste’s Fandomestic series became popular immediately, and this article ended up all over the internet, most notably on the official Star Wars blog.
- Fan Art Friday: Cthulhu
One of our biggest ongoing series is Fan Art Friday, in which we spotlight cool artwork posted around the net each week. Cthulhu was the biggest winner of the year there.
- 5 Ways Heroes Is Broken, And How To Fix It
Back in October, I was worried about Heroes and posted this list of ways I thought it could be better. I might have lost hope for the show entirely by now, but this post still brings folks to the site!
- Defining the Genre: The Science Fiction Punks
Kelly’s scholarly series that analyzes the origins and definitions of sci-fi and fantasy hit an all time high with her post about steampunk, cyberpunk, and biopunk.
- Fandomestic: DIY X-Men Card Table
Celeste’s second Fandomestic post made the top ten by getting reposted and linked in a lot of comics forums.
- Premium Themes Jazz Up Your XBox 360
This is the only news post to make the top 10, and I suspect it was a matter of good timing on Google with when the post went live.
- Review: Marley & Me Motion Picture Soundtrack
Our most popular review of the year was, surprisingly, for the Marley & Me soundtrack.
- Fan Art Friday: Batman
Posted on The Dark Knight’s opening day, this collection of Caped Crusader fan art was a popular one for the year.
