I’m heading back to my teenage days on this one. There two television characters I crushed on during my teens and wished were my boyfriend. The first was Angel from Buffy and the second was Max from Roswell. I loved both these shows and the leading men. However, only one gets the crushworthy treatment today.
Who is He?
Max Evans is an alien played by human Jason Behr on the former WB’s Roswell. Max tries to keep his celestial identity a secret from the town. Too bad that doesn’t work out for him after he saves Liz. Max used to be royalty before he was cloned and sent to Earth. Max navigates the human and alien worlds while always trying to do the right thing.
Fun Fact:
Max and his alien brethren ate hot sauce on everything.
Why So Crushworthy?
I was about fourteen going on fifteen when Roswell premiered. Max was a total dreamboat to me. He still is a dreamboat. Max was quiet but kind. He was the silent and strong type. His nature made him a natural leader. You knew he would save the day without making a fuss about it. Max’s introverted nature made you want draw him out of his shell. He was the non-creepy quiet guy. He was also smart and had a quiet sense of humor. Despite his gentle exterior, Max was full of fire. He was dedicated to protecting his sibling and his friends. He also loved Liz with his entire being.
I wanted a boyfriend like Max when I was fifteen. I wouldn’t have cared if he was an alien. Max’s love for Liz was his big selling point. He never gave up on them, even when Liz told him he needed to be with Tess to save the future. He valued and treasured her. Most of all, he treated her with respect. I wanted a romance like theirs. Max was pretty cool in other ways, too. His powers were amazing to watch. He was like a superhero. Max was a lover and a fighter.
He was really out of this world.
