I felt like I should check out the show iZombie when the series made it onto Netflix. I don’t regret that decision. The show is good with an interesting premise. It also has an array of interesting characters to get invested in. I don’t think I’ve gotten bored during a single episode. Each episode offers a new mystery and a new personality for its heroine, Liv. It was only a matter of time before she made this list. So enjoy reading what makes Liv so crushworthy.
Who is She?
Olivia “Liv” Moore is the heroine of the DC Comics series iZombie and the CW show of the same name. Liv was an ambitious medical resident until she went to an ill-fated boat party. She was turned into a zombie and took a job as a medical examiner to satisfy her need for brains. Each time she eats a brain, she takes on the traits of the previous owner and has psychic visions. She uses those psychic visions to help solve crimes. Liv, with her own personality, is amazing and is a role model as well.
Fun Fact:
Liv’s name in the comics is Gwen Dylan.
Why So Crushworthy?
Liv is still the smart and ambitious girl she was before she was turned into a zombie. She uses the drive she once had for medicine for solving crime. Liv is determined to do the right thing and ensure that Lady Justice prevails during each case. Liv has her depressed moments as a zombie. It’s natural since she had to break up with her fiance, hide the truth from her family, and eat brains. Yet she carries on and protects those she loves. It’s funny when Liv picks up new personality traits from eating brains. I really like the ones that are the complete opposite of her own personality. Liv manages to deal with each personality shift with aplomb, even when they lead to fiascos. Liv continues to grow as a person and not just because she eats brains. Liv understands that she needs her friends, and she can’t keep them out of the zombie loop. She develops her own Scooby gang to help protect her town from the zombie menace. Liv was a hyper-focused medical student before she was a zombie. Afterwards, I think she really began to understand the value of life and the people in it.
Liv without the zombie brain side effects is adorable and quirky. Her love for the show Zombie High shows her fangirl side. Zombies can have hobbies, too. She totally kicks butt in zombie mode. Liv is a great woman to have at your side. She’ll never give up on you, no matter what. Even when Major was being a jerk to her, she was determined to pull him from the dark side. Liv is always ready to defend Ravi, Clive, and Peyton as well. I think becoming a zombie made Liv a better person. Nothing like walking a few days in someone else’s head to give you a new appreciation of your own life. I’m looking forward to seeing how Liv will evolve during season 3 as the threat of a zombie apocalypse draws closer.
