There is something about a man in a scarf — especially one with a nifty Welsh accent. ABC’s Forever has become a hit show with its combination of Sherlock and CSI. Fans enjoy the premise of the show and its historical flashbacks, and especially the times when Henry Morgan dies and comes back.
Who is He?
Henry Morgan is a genius medical examiner on ABC’s Forever. He is played by the talented Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd. Henry Morgan is 235 years old and is immortal. He studies death to find a way to end his eternal sentence. In his spare time, he helps Detective Jo Martinez solve crimes in New York City. He lives with his adopted son Abe in an antique shop and enjoys the attentions of a dominatrix.

Henry Morgan knows languages like Greek and German, but he does not understand Japanese.
Why So Crushworthy?
I would like to start by saying I’ve loved Ioan Gruffudd ever since I saw him in King Arthur. He brings a high level of class to all his roles. Henry Morgan is no exception. One of the things I like most about Henry’s character is his quirkiness. He has old-fashioned tastes that he tries to hang onto in these modern times. He loves his tea and classical music. He doesn’t like cell phones. He also possesses a manic energy that reminds me of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock. Henry has great powers of observation and he gets very excited while making them. It’s fun to watch.
Let’s just face it… Henry is a handsome man. He is a man who can work a scarf. He would take you to a classy restaurant for a date and then to the opera later. Henry has shown himself to be very kind and empathetic. He has been part of some of the darkest times in history and come out the better for it. Henry is a man dedicated to doing the right thing, as he has shown time and again. I, for one, am looking forward to more of his adventures on the show — and finding out why he is immortal.
