I got my wish and have been playing Suikoden on the PS3. I have fallen back in love with the game. The music drives my fiancé nuts though. Playing the game has been a nice trip down memory lane. It also made me think about the huge crush I had on one of the characters. He inspired the creation of one of my own. I’m really excited that they may release Suikoden II on the PlayStation Network. I can play him twice!

Who is He?
Flik is one of the 108 Stars of Destiny in Konami’s enormous RPG Suikoden. He first appears as one of the lieutenants in the Liberation Army. He was also the boyfriend of the former leader, Odessa. He plays a large part in Suikoden II as well. Flik is a strong warrior and faithful soldier. He has a great bromance with Viktor which adds to the game’s entertainment.
Fun Facts:
- Flik’s nickname is Blue Thunder.
- Flik was basically pimped out by Viktor to get a forger to help the Liberation army. She took a fancy to him.
- Flik is from the Warrior’s Village where it is traditional to name your sword. He named his Odessa.
- Flik carries the Lightning rune.
- Flik has an obsession with fire spears.

Why So Crushworthy?
Flik was man who had to grow up. He was a hot headed commander when he first joined the Liberation army. I think he pretty much wanted to brawl during his first years there. He was pretty nasty to the main hero at first because he saw him as a threat to Odessa and nothing else. After her death, he had to think about more than just her. He took her words about being a good leader to heart and was determined to do his best for the army and the new leader. I was very impressed with his character development. It’s kind of hard to have that much depth when the cast of characters is huge.
Flik was very adorable as well. He was easily embarrassed. I felt bad for him when Viktor made him have dinner with Kimberley so she would help him. He was so awkward. Flik was a very emotional character. He took Odessa’s death hard. He remained loyal to her memory long after. It was very sweet. Flik is also very good looking for a pixelated character. His character appearance really improved in Suikoden II. I’m a sucker for blonds, I guess.
