Fred’s starting to learn about her true powers, Angel’s trying to make up for past mistakes, and a monster is looming on the sidelines ready to attack. Together the team can do good, but first they’ve got to get on the same page.

Note: This recap may contain spoilers!

Lilith sees through Angel’s commitment to keeping Detective Kate safe. He failed Mara before, and he thinks Kate can be his second chance. But substituting one for another isn’t a healthy path towards redemption. And Angel knows it, too. At least he has enough sense to get it all out in the open with Kate, along with solidifying the fact that she’s in the middle of a very weird situation with creatures that she didn’t even know existed. But if Angel thinks she’s just going to sit back and leave him to do all the fighting, he’s dead wrong. She will allow him to offer protection, but when the attack comes she’s going to be on the front lines of the battle alongside him.

Meanwhile, Fred’s going through some things of her own. When Kate gets possessed, it’s Fred’s connection to Baphomet that saves her. She has such power inside, if she would just allow herself to tap into it. And Lilah knows it, too. The woman felt it when Fred allowed herself to be open to Baphomet, and she is assured that the potential remains for Fred to become the conduit that they all want and need. Even if Fred’s unsure, and wary that she might become evil, she still must take the journey of discovery for herself. After all, when the monster comes, it’s she who must save them all. Even if she comes out of the battle different, it’s her destiny.

Thanks to Spike’s research, at least Team Angel knows what they might be coming up against. The demon is a Feeder. It gathers strength from pain and fear, but cannot be destroyed by physical means. However, there is one way to defeat it. They must convince the demon to possess a living thing, then they can destroy that thing and the demon in the process. However, at present, Angel is not willing to make that choice. He is always about trying to save everyone, even if it doesn’t make logical sense. I foresee a change of mind coming, when the stakes get higher, but for now it’s a waiting game as they begin to prepare for the coming battle.

More recently, she's been riding along with the Winchester brothers, and she hopes the Impala doesn't run out of gas for a long time.
