Man of Steel‘s box office success further confirms that superhero movies are big wins for Hollywood, and Sony tripled and quadrupled down on their Spidey bets this week with the confirmations of third and fourth installments in their Amazing Spider-Man series. Last year Sony rebooted the Spider-Man movies with Andrew Garfield as their new Peter Parker, and they are continuing the adventures with Amazing Spider-Man 2, scheduled to release on May 2, 2014. Garfield and Emma Stone will return for the second film, but no details aside from the release dates have been announced about Amazing Spider-Man 3, which will debut on June 10, 2016, and Amazing Spider-Man 4, coming May 4, 2018.
