In the second issue of Alpha Girl, we start off by seeing Judith at her two jobs. One is working at “The Book Mart” and the other is selling her body fluids and more for a high price. Her brother is going to need a lawyer after all. In the background of all this, the readers can tell that the zombie invasion is getting worse. Judith doesn’t notice.
Anyway, Judith is on her way to work when the government kidnaps her, since she is a female and they believe she will turn into a monster (she doesn’t). It seems they have taken other women who either die inside or get killed if they try to run. Judith, not liking either option, hides until she can get outside. During all of this, more characters are introduced in the comic. Only one gets named, however: Frank. He lives in the suburbs and sees a woman become a zombie first-hand. I’m not sure if any of the other characters introduced live, but that’s what the next issue is for!
The second issue is really well done. It keeps the tone from the first and manages to reveal more of the plot. The story is still engaging and quite funny. I can’t wait to see where it goes next, especially with the introduction of the new characters.
