Tiny Angel and the gang must take on the Sorrow Demon. They have to end his reign over Los Angeles, as he has brought depression and sadness to all the residents. But there are issues afoot on the home front as well.

While the gang remains sequestered as the hotel, the Sorrow Demon has affected everyone in Los Angeles. Lord Lenugo is a big fan as well. He is ready to take his reign over the city, all thanks to the help of the Sorrow Demon and the destruction he has wrought.
Meanwhile, the gang tries to figure out a plan. Spike knows they must kill the Sorrow Demon, but how? Their normal weapons won’t work, but perhaps shining some light into the darkness might. Fred has built a powerful UV light, hoping that will bring happiness back if used as a weapon. So, with that as their only potential lead, the gang head out to take on the Sorrow Demon.
Back at the hotel, Andrew and Lorne are assigned to research the Spirit House and the sword. Oz is also there to help, and suggests they look into spells that might create a door between worlds. With that as inspiration, Lorne finds something in the book about Pflorgenog, which is Pylean for “door” and so much more. The Spirit House is made of Maehumminaburv, a magical wood that can be used to create a door to “open up otherwise unseen wonders.” Great lead! And there’s a notation that putting a sliver of the wood under the skin can help the person cross over, which is what Angel needs to become big again.
Speaking of Angel and the rest, they go to Hollywood Boulevard, specifically to the Walk of Fame. Wesley thinks the Sorrow Demon is drawing its power from there, being the single saddest place in LA, and they do indeed find him there. Fred shines the light on the Sorrow Demon, disabling him, but behind him is Lord Lenugo and his soldiers. They are literally feces, so the ensuring battle is quite messy and smelly. By the end of it, Lord Lenugo takes the Sorrow Demon back with him, leaving the gang behind to regroup on their own.
And regrouping is certainly needed, as each member of the team seems to have some issues to work through. Wesley hurt his wrist, then got hit by a car, while he was out. And that leads him to be depressed at how he’s falling apart, quite literally. Fred keeps telling him she doesn’t care, but he knows it would be best if they could reverse this issue and get him back to the land of the living.
Oz tries to made amends for his former misstep, when he asked if Lorne and Andrew were together and caused Lorne to take great offense. Oz’s attempts at apologies go unheeded, as Lorne doesn’t want to talk about it. And he doesn’t want to talk it through with Andrew either, which causes the latter to become sad at the entire situation. But he pushes on and does cut a sliver of the wood from the Spirit House so Angel can be restored to full height. One step forward, two steps back.
Finally, Cordelia realizes who the Sorrow Demon is, after getting a glimpse at his eye color. It’s Groosalugg, who she had loved. He was a dashing Pylean hero, but now he’s dead. This puts her into a state of sorrow as well, retreating to her room to deal with the news on her own. As we end the issue, Angel’s back to full size and tries console Cordelia, but there’s a whole lot more healing left to do – for everyone.
