You may recall the Battlestar Galactica case mod featured here before. It’s fantastic, but it’s not the only geeky custom computer case on the block — far from it! Here are ten more awesome computer case mods inspired by video games, movies, comics, and more. These pictures won’t entirely do them justice, so make sure you click through to the creators’ own sites to check out the serious detail involved.

1. Doom 3: Project Mars City Case Mod

casemods1

This Doom 3 case mod was built by Crimson Sky of The Best Case Scenario. The detail is incredible — go to his worklog to see tons more pictures of the process and the final product.

2. Batmobile Tumbler PC

casemods2

A gutted remote-control Tumbler toy from Walmart became this awesome Batman custom case by batfan06.

3. R2-D2 Case Mod

casemods3

It doesn’t seem that much is known about the this case, including who created it. But there are a bunch of photos of it (including detail shots) over at The Contaminated.

4. NES Controller Computer Case

casemods4

This giant Nintendo controller computer case was built from scratch by a group of classmates for a school project.

5. Spider-Mac

casemods5

Arg0s modified a G4 Mac case in honor of Spider-Man. His own site (in Spanish) has lots more pictures and a worklog. If you want to read about his process in English, check out MacMod.

6. Borg Cube Computer

casemods6

XorArch was already planning to build an extra computer to use as a router/firewall/download machine, and given those purposes for the machine, a Borg cube was a natural progression. The site (CaseJunkies) is in Dutch, but you can also read some more about the mod here.

7. Weighted Companion PC

casemods7

The ever-popular Portal served as the inspiration for another cube PC: the Weighted Companion Cube. Modder Magnus Persson made the whole thing in just five days.

8. TARDIS PC Case

casemods8

From m4gnum comes this TARDIS case, built from scratch to match his computer’s name on his work network.

9. Transforming Optimus Prime PC Case

casemods9

Yup, this case by John Mangus actually transforms. Not into a truck (although he did use actual truck paint!), but it can either be full-body standing on the floor (at 6’10”) or torso only, on a desk.

10. World of Warcraft Case Mod

casemods10

For the serious WoWer, here’s a Warcraft-inspired case mod from Mnpctech.

batman, case mods, doctor who, Fandomestic, nintendo, portal, spider-man, star trek, star wars, transformers, world of warcraft

Holy cow, I <3 the TARDIS mod! These are all fantastic; I always wonder how people make them, or even come up with the idea!

Being completely biased, I prefer my TARDIS: http://yaytay.wordpress.com/2009/11/01/the-tardis-home-server/, if only because I’m happier with the end result.
Of course, M4gnum got there first and I got the opportunity to both read about his work and try to improve on it.
