Welcome the newest Crushworthy Characters spin-off to mix things up. My list of fictional crushes is not inexhaustible so occasionally I need to take a different approach. I decided to see who wins the crushworthy battle in popular game, anime, book, movie, and television series. For its first run, I decided to select two of the most popular girls in anime history.
From Neon Genesis Evangelion, I give you two of its leading ladies. Who will win in this crushworthy face-off?
Who Are They?
Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langely Soryu are characters from the popular anime Neon Genesis Evangelion by Hideaki Anno. Both are young pilots of Evangelion units in the war against the Angels. Asuka and Rei have continued to be anime fan favorites for many years. I can’t count the number of people I know with Rei and Asuka figurines and posters. Both pilots have their own charms. But who wins the crush challenge?
Rei
Rei is a clone garnered from the remains of Shinji’s mother. She is a quiet girl with superior intelligence. Rei has difficulty expressing herself and sees herself as just an asset. With Shinji, she starts to exhibit more human emotions. Rei has that shy girl appeal even though she is a tough Eva pilot. Dating Rei would be a slow process of trust and feelings, but she would stick by you.
Asuka
Asuka is a tough fireball. She has no problems letting you know exactly what she is thinking. She has a lot of pride and doesn’t lack in the self-confidence department. You just have to deal with her pent up trauma later. She definitely made Shinji’s life more interesting. Dating Asuka would never get boring. If you made her mad, you would hear about it immediately. Asuka has been whispered to be the favorite of the two.
