I hope everyone enjoyed the Halloween themed crushes. Now it is time to go back to normal. The first summer I came home during my time in Japan I spent a majority of my time playing the Uncharted games. The games were equal parts fun and frustrating. I really hated climbing up every solid surface and getting into outmatched gun battles. However, I did get introduced to the cool cat that is Nathan Drake.

Who is He?
Nathan Drake is the protagonist of the Uncharted game series by Naughty Dog. He climbs and shoots his way through lost civilizations and temples looking for treasure. He is the male version of Lara Croft. Nathan Drake has also starred in numerous comics, motion comics, commercials, and video game shows. He certainly gets around.
Fun Facts:

- Nathan Drake’s email is ndrake@privateer.com.
- Nathan is horribly afraid of clowns. I don’t blame him.

- Nathan Drake was partly based on Johnny Knoxville — known as the comedian Jackass in Hollywood.
Why So Crushworthy?
Nathan Drake is a stereotype, but it’s one we love. Who doesn’t adore the suave, dashing treasure hunter? He is the action hero we dream about at night. He is also a funny screwball. Nathan Drake may have charisma with the ladies but that is as far as it goes. He usual attempts to defuse a situation usually end with something blowing up or a shoot out. He is not the perfect hero and that is great. Nathan Drake would be the type of man you would chat up in the bar. He is good looking but not too handsome. He would tell you some jokes and then offer you a plane ride to some unheard tropical island, where you would probably get chased by some ancient tribe after he steals their treasure.
Nathan Drake was a fun character to play. He wasn’t emo like many action stars with checkered pasts. He cracked jokes and enjoyed what he was doing. His phrase, “Oh, crap!” became famous. I think there are memes about it. He had his serious moments, though, that revealed character depth. I got torn up just as much as he did when Sully was thought to be dead. I cheered when he turned up alive. Also, when Nate showed his wedding band to Elena, romantics around the world swooned. It was romance novel worthy. The game knew how to play up the glamorous hero spiel without it being too nauseating. Even my fiancé got a small crush on Nathan Drake. I think you have a hard time not having a crush on Nathan Drake. Here’s hoping that one day Naughty Dog will release Uncharted 4!
