Yesterday, Funcom announced the launch of Update 7: “Shrines of Bori” for the MMO Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures. The free update is said to include new content, features, and “groundbreaking” enhancements.
“We’re very happy to bring new content to our loyal PvP players,” says Funcom Game Director and Executive Producer Craig Morrison. “The new content and the raising of the PvP level cap show we are committed to our fans and committed to continuously update and improve on an already fantastic game. The new in-game event will give players a taste of our upcoming expansion ‘Rise of the Godslayer.’ As always there are also a lot of smaller improvements and additions packed in there.”
Update 7: “Shrines of Bori” takes place around the village of Brandoc, where shrines for the war god Bori will provide the setting for gameplay. Guilds will wage war over the shrines, which can be captured and destroyed. The new reward system will emphasize conflict over cooperation (this is centered around a god of war, after all), so your alliances might be tested or flat-out broken.
The update will also introduce the players to assassins from the lands of Khitai (the setting for the upcoming Rise of the Godslayer expansion) in a new in-game event titled The Silver Atrium.
