Cable and Hope are still on the run through time from Bishop in this issue. Good news: They can move forward and backward through time. Bad news: Not only is Bishop connected to them so he’s always right behind them, they can’t seem to get the exact time location they want. Also, Cable is pretty much dead man walking and each timeslide makes his condition worse.
Cable, Hope, and Bishop are having a little ride on Time’s slip-n-slide, checking out various versions of Manhattan. They can’t seem to hit the time period Cable’s looking for, but they do get in on some American Revolution battle action (which gets Cable and Hope into a painting in a history book covering the war). This entire issue is just the usual cat and mouse, with Hope briefly flashing some mutant abilities when Cable goes down for the count (spoiler: her mutant ability is the Über-CPR… okay, maybe not).
God, I kind of wish you would die already at this point, Bishop. Dude. How long has this character been trying to change the future he’s from? I’m not even going to go into how even Wolverine has learned a thing or two about acting rational and HUMAN in his tenure as a member of The X-Men (and he was WAY more Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs than Bishop, in my opinion), I’m just going to talk about the time travel idiocy that is going on with him.
After all the time traveling Bishop has done, you’d think he would realize by now that the very act of him going back in time and changing things there has the potential to create whole new timelines and realities. I mean, did it ever occur to him at any point in his “mission” to change his future that he might actually be the catalyst that sets his future into motion (if he’s not going to think about how he’s already changed the future by becoming involved with The X-Men)? After all these years, all the stuff he’s been through on his own and with The X-Men, dude is still blinded by the major hard-on he has to blame one mutant for the timeline he’s from and his need to kill them? That’s awesome character growth right there.
Speaking of character growth, when’s it going to come out that Hope is actually Jean already? I really just want Jean to come back from the dead already.

I kind of quit following Marvel and all the comic books out there and sometimes I have the urge to get back but it just feels like sucking into nothing. These stories and plots will never end. Nowadays I read The Walking Dead and some manga that I find pretty cool like Gantz or Berserker (a bit gore though).
I have to admit that I haven’t really been following Marvel since they changed the X-Men comics after the movies (I really don’t like the movies, but that’s a whole other topic). Every once in awhile lately, I have been peeking back in and checking a few issues out. Most of the time, they’re enjoyable (I actually like Wolverine and the Hit Squad-ness in X-Force). I have been reading the more “story that has an end” or the non-superhero type stories, like you, but I think sometimes I have to get my fix back with Marvel and DC since those were the kind of stories that got me into comics.
