If you’re reading Fandomania, then the chances are pretty good that you are some type of gaming geek (it’s okay, we’re gaming geeks, too!). If your platform of choice is Xbox 360, you have an Xbox LIVE account, and you own a copy of Forza Motorsport 3, then we have some exciting news for you!
Members of the popular rock band Chevelle, named for the group’s love of cars, will take some time out of their busy schedules to kick back and race some their fans in Forza Motorsport 3 on Xbox LIVE on Saturday, January 23. The band members — brothers Pete and Sam Loeffler and their brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini — will be available between 2:00pm – 4:00pm EST (11:00am – 1:00pm PST) to burn some rubber with their fans. Game with Fame will post recaps from gamers across the country, so players who have a chance to race Chevelle are asked to send stories of their experiences, including gamertag and home town, to Game with Fame at xboxgwf@live.com using the subject “GWF – Chevelle”.
How will you know if you’re playing with Chevelle? The band members will be using the gamertag Chevelle GwF for this Game with Fame event.
Not familiar with the band? Chevelle is an alternative metal/hard rock group formed in 1995 in Grayslake, Illinois by three brothers: Pete (lead vocals/guitar), Sam (drums/percussion) and Joe Loeffler (bass/backup vocals). Joe chose to leave the band in 2005 and, soon after, the Loefflers’ brother-in-law, Dean Bernardini, joined in his place. Chevelle has released five full-length albums including Point #1, the platinum-certified Wonder What’s Next, This Type of Thinking (Could Do Us In), Vena Sera, and their most recent release, Sci-Fi Crimes. The band has scored seven different Top 5 Rock Radio hits, including the single “Jars” from their latest album, which was released in August 2009.
