The trailer for the next Call of Duty game has hit the net. Give it a watch and see what you think:
While Call of Duty 4 is undoubtedly a brilliant game that managed to topple Halo 3 and keeps a cozy spot at the top of the XBox Live top games list, it’s important to note that COD: World at War most likely won’t be rekindling that fun. COD4 was developed by Infinity Ward, the great minds behind COD2. This World at War installment is being put out by Treyarch, who previously dropped the less than stellar COD3.
My excitement for World at War is nonexistent at this point, and I’m just left wishing the IW guys had the ability to put the kibosh on second rate developers riding their gravy train.
Punisher: War Zone, the sequel to the previous Punisher film starring Thomas Jane, is set to hit theaters on December 5. Along with a new Punisher (Ray Stevenson), the movie carries a new villain as well with the menace of Jigsaw. Here’s the new teaser trailer, courtesy of ComingSoon.net:
Ray Stevenson does have the look of the Punisher in the comics, but based on the trailer he seems to lack some of the (with apologies to Keifer Sutherland) gravitas Thomas Jane brought to the role. I’m still looking forward to the film, though. Julie Benz being in it sells the movie for me.
I fully admit that I enjoyed the Star Wars prequels. Not Jar Jar, mind you, but I did get a lot of fun out of the movies themselves, and I absolutely loved the Clone Wars cartoon that aired on Cartoon Network. It was with quite a bit of trepidation that I learned that Genndy Tartakovsky would not be working on the new Clone Wars animated movie and that it would be 3D instead of 2D. Since then, however, I’ve seen more promotional material and watched some footage and have warmed to the notion of the movie and the animated series that will spawn from it.
Today Lucasfilm dropped a brand new theatrical trailer onto the internet, and I’m growing increasingly interested in the movie. Take a look and see what you think.
Yesterday I paid a trip to the local Circuit City to take advantage of this week’s discounted XBox Live 1600 Points Cards, down to $14.99 from $19.99. I buy a ton of Rock Band songs and the occasional map packs or XBLA games, so I figured I’d be wise to go ahead and buy up a bunch of points while they’re discounted. Even with 7500 points now sitting in my account, I find I’m frugal to the point of miserly with my Microsoft Monopoly money. It’s a rare thing for me to come across a XBox Live Arcade game these days that I’m actually willing to drop the change for (the Penny Arcade game didn’t even make the cut), but I just came across an upcoming release that actually looks like it could be points worthy.
The game is called Go! Go! Break Steady and is a break dancing rhythm game that has you rapid-fire button mashing in time with the music to have your dancer pull off crazy moves and stay with the song. There will be a single player mode, as well as multiplayer co-op and competitive play. The game will ship with 6 playable characters and 20 songs to play through. I think the thing that really grabbed my attention is the art style, though. It’s a 2D cartoony style that works very well with the crazy dance moves and gameplay they have going on. The gameplay itself looks like it could be a lot of fun, if you’re into the pattern-button-mashing puzzle games.
No info on pricing just yet or when the game will be available for download, but the developers have released a trailer that tops most other XBLA trailers I’ve seen, and they also have a making-of video that gives a fun and cartoony look at how the game came together.
The James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie starring action flick Wanted is getting closer to its June 27 release, and yet another amazing trailer has hit the net. Take a look at all the gunplay and acrobatics that have accelerated my excitement for this movie from zero to BIG in just the past few weeks.
Take a look at the trailer for The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. The film is set to release on August 1 and stars Brendan Fraser, Jet Li, Maria Bello, and Michelle Yeoh. Yetis and mummies and dragons, oh my!
The debut official trailer for the new X-Files movie is now online and in HD! You can follow the link to watch it, but you might want to avoid it if you’d like to stay spoiler free for the film.
The official Star Wars: The Clone Wars trailer has been released, and it’s all over TV and the web now. StarWars.com has the trailer up for viewing on their main page right now, so go check it out.
The trailer for Wolverine and The X-Men is now online! Here’s your chance to check out Marvel’s new animated series, slated for a spring 2009 premiere on Nicktoons. This series looks completely amazing and portends to be every bit as awesome as the previous X-Men cartoons. The X-Men are well represented, with appearances by a number of classic and modern characters, a glimpse of some Sentinels, and even a look at what appears to be a retelling of the Days of Future Past storyline. There also are a few Marvel Universe surprises in the trailer that have me more anxious than ever to see the show.
A new trailer for The Dark Knight premiered with Iron Man screenings this weekend, and now it’s online for you to see. Among other things, this trailer gives us a first glimpse of full-on Two Face. Blink and you’ll miss it.
