Willow is healing, Baby Crab is growing, and a new enemy is coming to light. Buffy might be trying to get used to having her Slayer powers and memories back, but it’s time to put them to good use against the danger that has come calling.

Note: This recap may contain spoilers!

Tara is guiding Willow through her release of the black magic. It’s difficult, but they’re making progress. They are also getting closer, getting to know one another. Tara lets Willow know a bit about her past, just a tidbit about how she felt ashamed in her youth. I wonder how aligned this Tara’s backstory is with the one we knew in the original timeline.

Willow and Tara’s quiet moment is interrupted by Buffy and Faith sparring. The Magic Shop is tight quarters and there’s not a lot of room for all the activities. There’s also the fact that they have a huge crab monster hanging out there, which Tara is curious about. So, Giles explains and he notes that Baby Crab has powers that have never been observed in Scylla, so he’s interested to explore them.

The team is complete when Xander and Spike arrive after a day out exploring enrichment locations. Baby Crab is getting big and he doubles in size after each growth spurt, so they’ve got to make preparations for his future. However, when Xander goes to check on him, Baby Crab is missing. Tara helps Willow connect with him so they can try to find him, and Willow gets a glimpse of something that may have dire consequences.

Baby Crab says he’s at a feast, though it’s unclear where that is. There are weird dolls everywhere and a woman’s voice who is English. When Willow relays these details, Spike immediately recognizes the woman as Dru, but doesn’t say her name. He just says she’s very bad news and Buffy needs to get Baby Crab away from her right away. Knowing the destruction that she could bring down, he and the others have every right to be afraid.

Faith agrees to join her and Buffy says Spike has to come, too, even though he doesn’t want to. They arrive at The Bronze, where Dru is hiding out. Showdown time! I’m excited to see Dru and how Spike deals with her. But, most of all, I hope they can rescue Baby Crab and return him to the loving home Xander has created. I’ve grown attached to the little-big guy.
