The Conjuring, James Wan’s 2013 supernatural horror film that launched the highest-grossing horror franchise to date, is now available in 4K Ultra HD. The film can be purchased Digitally today, with a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray release set for August 26.
Based on the real-life case files of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the story follows the investigators as they work to help the Perron family, who are terrorized by a dark presence in their secluded Rhode Island farmhouse. The case forces the Warrens to confront a powerful demonic entity in what becomes one of the most harrowing experiences of their careers.
Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson star as the Warrens, joined by Ron Livingston and Lili Taylor as Roger and Carolyn Perron. The cast also includes Joey King, Shanley Caswell, Hayley McFarland, Mackenzie Foy, Kyla Deaver, and Sterling Jerins. James Wan directs from a script by Chad Hayes and Carey W. Hayes.
This new 4K edition includes a collection of special features. Among them are Scariest of Them All and Reflections on The Conjuring, both newly produced retrospectives with the cast and creators looking back on the film’s legacy. Additional extras include behind-the-scenes features on the Warrens’ real-life investigations, the Perron family’s memories, and James Wan’s approach to crafting scares.
