Rock Band: Blitz Singles and End of DLC Announcement

This week is another re-release week for Rock Band‘s DLC. Every other week they have presented three songs as new standalone DLC that previously were available only as part of the excellent Rock Band Blitz downloadable game. If you already own Blitz, there’s nothing new for you this week. There is, however, some news from Harmonix about the future of Rock Band DLC. For five years Harmonix has been bringing us weekly song packs and singles, but all that comes to a halt in April when the final weekly release arrives. This isn’t much of a surprise, given that the downloadables have been tapering off for a while, leading up to the current every other week arrangement. Coupled with the waning of the current game console generation, it stands to reason that Harmonix is switching gears to focus on other projects that undoubtedly are coming up for the next system releases from Microsoft and Sony. Still, we do have three singles this week (each priced at the usual $1.99 / 160 Microsoft Points each), and you can see the full list below, followed by videos of all three.

  • Barenaked Ladies – “One Week”
  • Collective Soul – “Shine”
  • Fall Out Boy – “A Little Less Sixteen Candles, a Little More ‘Touch Me'”
