Prometheus, 2012’s prequel to Alien, met with a full range of critical responses. Those of us who loved the movie and wanted move have something to look forward to, because Prometheus 2 took another step toward getting made this week. According to The Wrap, Jack Paglen has signed on to write the sci-fi sequel, which likely will star returning actors Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender. Paglen is a newcomer to the field, his only upcoming writing credit being Transcendence, the 2014 science fiction film starring Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman. He’ll be working with director Ridley Scott and following up on the work of LOST writer Damon Lindelof, who rewrote the first Prometheus film’s script to wildly mixed reactions. The sequel to Prometheus has yet to be titled and in fact may not have the word “Prometheus” in it at all.
