Back in December I featured the still-awesome Console to Closet blog as a Fandom Tumblr of the Week. That site is fantastic for putting together complete outfits inspired by video gaming, but the gorgeous ideas found there could cost you a pretty penny to assemble. If you’re interested in adding some gaming flair to your wardrobe without busting the bank, this week’s feature could be the blog you’re looking for!
Gamer Fashion 101
Fandom(s): Video games
Theme or gimmick: A collection of easy ways to add some geekiness to your wardrobe.
Tumblr intro: “I only do everyday fashion, NOT Cosplay, Sorry. Hi and Welcome :)”
Why it’s great: Gamer Fashion 101 started out with a modus operandi similar to that of Console to Closet. They assembled everyday fashion outfits inspired by fictional characters, complete from head to toe without venturing far enough for the outfits to be in the cosplay realm. Over time, the blog has evolved to feature less intensive geeky wardrobe additions, alongside links to where you can find and buy the featured items. It’s awesome to be able to put together a full ensemble based on the styles of your favorite game character, but it’s just as cool (and often even more practical) to be able to pick up one or two shirts or accessories at reasonable prices and still be able to share your fandom with the world.
