To this point, all the Tumblrs we’ve featured here have been entirely fan-run and unofficial creations. This week’s blog breaks out of that mold by being the BBC’s official Doctor Who Tumblr!

Why it’s great: When you hear about an official website or blog about a particular TV show, I’ll bet you expect for it to be all marketing speak and dry advertising. You’d usually be right, but that’s anything but the case with the official Doctor Who Tumblr. This blog clearly is run by folks who understand both Doctor Who fandom and Tumblr, and it’s jam packed both with original and official Who content and reblogs from the fan community. They even have a handy index along the side that will take you to categories ranging from fan art to behind the scenes to individual Doctors and fan vids. This is how companies should be working with their audiences, and it’s awesome that BBC is getting this one so right.
