The BBC closed the mystery as to who the next Doctor Who star would be when they revealed Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor on Saturday. With Smith in place and Steven Moffat running the show’s direction, the main remaining question is, “Who is the new companion?”
Online speculation is rampant, and the Telegraph reports that Who producers are searching for a high profile female to accompany the largely unknown Matt Smith on his adventures in the TARDIS. The current frontrunner seems to be 23 year old British singer Lily Allen. Casting Allen as the new companion would be in line with the direction of the new Doctor Who, as singer Billie Piper was the original companion when the series relaunched in 2005.
Other names mentioned as possibilities include Kelly Brook and Agyness Deyn.
Who do you think should be alongside the Eleventh Doctor when series five begins in 2010?
