Fritz and his friend are still out for vengeance and the sisters are still doing what they do. It’s more of a hurry up and wait storyline for this go-around, but I’ve learned to bide my time with the comic. Something will happen soon…maybe.
Note: This recap may contain spoilers!
We start off the issue with The Guardian, an older demon, warning an off-screen person about the dangers of their request. Turns out it’s Fritz and his companion, who are still out to destroy the Charmed Ones. And since The Guardian seems to hate the sisters just as much as they do, he agrees to their request. He tells them how to gain the power of the Athame, but issues a warning. Five demons and one warlock have attempted to gain the power prior and all of their souls have been eradicated. It’s a dangerous endeavor, but one Fritz and his friend are willing to undertake.
Meanwhile, back at the manor, Prue is talking to her brother-in-law on the phone. She’s trying to track down Piper, but he doesn’t know where she is and Piper’s not answering her cellphone. The separation of the sisters can be seen and felt, not only physically, but emotionally. And once she disconnects her call, Cole starts in on her. She’s getting it from all sides, it seems. But perhaps instead of focusing on the issues with her fragile sisterly relationship, she should be focusing on matters closer to home. Cole is up to something, and once they separate he gets even more sneaky, going to a cabinet and uttering the promise of “soon.” This is why I can’t trust Cole. You think he’s doing the right thing, but then he gets all mysterious and evil-acting.
The missing-sister-in-question, Piper, has her own troubles to deal with. Her restaurant kitchen has been invaded by leprechauns. Of course it had to be leprechauns. And while her family, who joins her to get to the bottom of the matter, is willing to go along on the wandering journey the little people are promising them, Piper is done with it. She’s left behind while her sisters and Leo go off traipsing in the Green Meadow. It seems that the happy land has been invaded by demons, injuring one of their own, and the bad guys aren’t done with them yet. The Guardian, aka Murray, shows up, throwing fireballs and saying that they’re all going to die. He’s all big words and little fight, though, and he’s soon taken care of. Until the next wave of attack, it seems the sisters and the leprechauns are safe.
Back in this world, Prue and Cole are having a talk. Prue says she feels like she’s distanced from her sisters now that they don’t come to visit as often or call her back. And for all the rejection she’s getting from her sisters, she feels like at least Cole is sticking by her. She talks about how selfless Cole is, and that’s when he reveals his secret to her. Well, at least he’s not trying to be sneaky anymore. We soon learn that he’s been storing his father’s soul in the cabinet. Cole wanted to release him and give him peace, but that won’t do it. Instead, he wants Prue’s help to bring dear old dad back. However that might turn out, though, is not to be learned at the moment. Instead, their discussion is cut shot when they get an intruder alert for the manor. Cole zaps over there to check it out and then Fritz pop up with his buddy. Cole and the duo get into it and attacks abound before Piper comes downstairs to help deal with it. She vanquishes Fritz with water, while the other guy gives his warning before vanishing. He will return, and we will wait. Bring on the drama, please.
