The Halliwell family is falling apart, and if something isn’t done there will be long-standing repercussions. With Prue on the verge of exploding, Coop on the verge of punishment, and Paige on the verge of divorce, the happy days of the past seem long gone.
Note: This recap may contain spoilers!
First up, let’s focus on the most normal domestic disturbance. That would be Henry and Paige. The danger that she brings into their home continues to wear on Henry and he’s trying to figure out any way to keep his family safe. His latest idea is to get away from it all. He’s been offered a raise and a transfer to LA and he’s thinking about taking it. If the entire family moves, then he thinks that will keep the dangers away. Unfortunately, Paige doesn’t see it that way, and she doesn’t want to leave her sisters either. What will become of the couple? Does this spell the end of the marriage?
Next up, there’s the whole Ben / Cole, Prue, and Kyra situation. Ben’s been having nightmares about Cole, and his desire to rescue his son remains. He even tries to talk Kyra into helping him to return to the Wasteland in hopes he can find Cole. That would be all well and good if there wasn’t also the other situation with escaped demons and what they escaped from. Prue finds that the Wasteland isn’t a place, but rather a thing. It is actually an Old One, Heremus, and all vanquished demons are living in its bowels. Very gross, but fitting.
And then we have the horrible situation that Coop and Phoebe are in. The fact that he took sides in the fight did not sit well with the Cupids, and he will be sentenced for his crime in two weeks time. We skip right to the sentencing fairly quickly, though the outcome is not something anyone is pleased with. He will be taken away from the mortal world and only allowed to see Phoebe once a year, on their wedding anniversary. Any violation of this order means that he and the kids will have their powers stripped. And unlike Whitelighters, being stripped of his powers means that Henry will age rapidly up to the age he would have been had he been mortal. This means death in Henry’s case. So, they’re in a no-win situation. And it’s made even more complicated by the revelation that Phoebe makes at the end of the issue, after arriving home alone. She reveals to Elise that she’s pregnant with a little girl.
Will Phoebe have to go through her pregnancy alone? Will Heremus prove to be a danger to the sisters? Will Prue explode? Will Paige be able to save her marriage? And will Ben recover Cole in the end? All these questions remain until next issue.
