The fight is gearing up and the troops are rallying round. It will be interesting to see if old alliances hold true or if some of the soldiers decide to change sides as time goes on. There are sure to be some casualties before Silas is done with the Slayers.

Note: This recap may contain spoilers!

As we begin, Silas is enjoying wreaking havoc across Sunnydale. His ghost dogs are destroying everything around them and both Giles and Anya might be in danger if something isn’t done. Time has run out for the Scooby gang. If they don’t act now, there may not be a home left to defend.

Willow, Kendra, and Buffy have regrouped at the school nurse’s office to go over Faith’s status. Her hand is healing, but she lost two fingers. Meanwhile, Augie is recuperating and Cam feels like he has failed them all. It’s not the best headspace to be in, especially with what’s ahead for them. Some encouragement and leadership is needed. And that’s just what Buffy is going to give. She is ready to start the battle, even if the others are unsure.

Morgan’s been tasked to go over to Anya’s and get what they need before they throw open all the portals. And Ethan has to advise the mayor that there has been a definite change of plans. They are going to need all the weapons and Watchers they can get to join the fight over at the school. And Faith just wants to waste Silas for what he did to her, so at least they have one energized soldier ready to go. Still, she is wary that their entire success hinges on Willow not getting killed and it’s not clear that Faith will actually follow the plan if she has the opportunity to kill Silas herself. But Buffy can’t wait for guarantees. It’s time to act and hope for the best.

I still wonder about Ethan’s allegiance, especially after he tells Willow he is proud of her. The truth is that Ethan’s probably looking after his own good and whatever side serves him best at the time. Right now, that seems to be Buffy’s plan, so they go full steam ahead on that. Buffy heads into one of the portals to try and bait Silas to follow her. He does and is met with Buffy, Kendra, and Faith squaring off against him. Then the gang unleashes everything they have on him, with Cordelia, Willow, Ethan, and Cam joining in, along with Angel, Spike, and the Buffys and others from the various worlds. They are ready for a fight!

Looking forward to seeing where this leads us in the next issue.
