It’s a good day to be a Breaking Bad fan. Tonight the blockbuster series won the Golden Globe for Best Drama Series, while its star Bryan Cranston picked up the award for Best Actor in a Drama. On the heels of those victories comes AMC’s confirmation that the show’s much rumored spinoff, Better Call Saul, will be premiering on the network in November 2014. Better Call Saul is a prequel to Breaking Bad and focuses on Bob Odenkirk’s popularly shady lawyer, Saul Goodman.
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan will be back to showrun the spinoff, and it’s safe to expect a lot of other familiar crew members to slide over to the new show as well. It’s also a safe bet that some of the usual suspects from Breaking Bad will make appearances on the new series, as many of Walter White’s allies and nemeses had connections to Saul Goodman prior to their involvement with Walt. Mike (Jonathan Banks) and Gus Fring (Giancarlo Esposito) are among those most likely to show up.
