Angel’s team continues to face off against the vampire army while Spike slips further into soullessness. How will they prevail? There’s a few surprises yet to come, with an interesting resurrection and a big sacrifice.

We pick up again with Angel and the gang fighting the vampire army. Spike is incapacitated on the floor, dwelling on his situation. And the blond vampire will not be moved at Angel’s urging to come to the lab to help fix his situation. But, even though Drusilla says that Spike belongs to her and Angelus now, she will not have that hold much longer. That’s because Dru gets staked by Fred, ending her existence.
It’s a split on what to do with Spike. Fred urges Wesley to just leave him, as he’s soulless now, but Wes can’t do that. He owes his life to Spike. Instead, he drags Spike through the dumb waiter, down to the cellar, while Angel and the team keep fighting the vampires. He’s determined to fix Spike one way or the other. Sadly, his plan involves a big sacrifice. He hooks himself up to Spike, sending the borrowed soul back to the vampire. It does work, as Spike is revived with his soul, but it came at the cost of Wesley’s life. Spike vows that his friend’s sacrifice will not be in vain.
Meanwhile, the gang are making their escape. Andrew sets off an explosion in the house and they ride Oz out of there. They travel through the graveyard, towards the doctor’s car, and they see Buffy’s gravestone. We find out she was called and killed a few weeks later. However, her destiny is not yet over. They’re going to jump start Buffy and resurrect the Slayer. And, surprisingly, it works. She goes right back into killing vampires alongside the rest of the team. Spike even joins them soon after, staking the doctor before telling Fred the bad news about Wesley.
Angel and Cordelia share a kiss before he takes on Angelus. He stakes Angelus in the heart with a cross. Quite heroic, considering Angel burned up his arm in the process. Then he and the team face off against the rest of the vampire army. They must save the world yet again.
