We seem to end the series with a happy ending. Or so I hope. Nice tie-up of the ongoing Amnesiac!Buffy and Dark!Willow storyline.
Note: This recap may contain spoilers!
Buffy’s ready to confront Willow over her misbegotten powers. She and Faith go over to Willow’s house to get Buffy’s powers back, but it’s not going to be easy. Willow is determined to see her plan through. The storyline mostly centers around that setting as well, with Giles off at the airport and both Xander and Spike over at Xander’s place trying to protect Baby Crab.
Buffy faces off against Dark!Willow, who tries to brush her off and gives an ominous promise. There’s just a few more minutes left for all of them. Creepy. And while Faith and Buffy try to talk Willow out of her plan, she’s not listening. Willow knows she’s a conduit and her powers are reaching all over Sunnydale. Soon it will all be over.
But Buffy is not one to give up easily. She tries to tap into Willow’s memories. Buffy reminds her that she always tries to make things better, but sometimes she can’t fix everything. The pain Willow is trying to protect Buffy from is not hers to decide. After a lot of pushing and convincing, Willow finally transfers Buffy’s powers back to her.
All that’s left is to tie up the loose ends. Faith, Buffy, and Willow head over to Xander’s place to meet up with Giles, Spike, and Baby Crab. Nice reunion all around. Also, there’s a nice tease for future happiness as Giles has called in a colleague of his to help Willow adjust and embrace her journey. She’s a legend in the field of magical rehabilitation and we find out it’s Tara! Very nice final shout-out for this storyline.
