The trailer for the upcoming film based on Rockstar’s “Max Payne” has been released onto the internet, and here it is.
The film stars Mark Wahlberg in the title role. The film also features Beau Bridges, Ludacris, and Mila Kunis as femme-fatale Mona Sax.
At this point it’s unclear how close to the game the story is, but the essential story seems to be intact. The game tells the story of a DEA agent who is undercover to blow the lid on the distribution of a new designer drug. But when he’s framed for the murder of his contact, Payne goes on an all-or-nothing one man war against the mob, and as he keeps fighting, he discovers that this goes even deeper than he anticipated when he finds out that this connects with the brutal murder of his wife and child.
The film will be released October 2008.
