I first became aware of Professor Shyguy because he’ll be at Nerdapalooza. He doesn’t have much music released at the moment, but that’s the whole purpose of this Kickstarter. He wants to fund the pressing of the music he already has put together onto CD as well as get some help for his upcoming tour.
What I’m Getting
I’ll be getting the physical and digital versions of the album (and a sticker), which is what I’m most interested in. That’s the $13 level. In addition, however, the $20 level comes with a t-shirt, so I decided to opt for that.
What Else Is Available
For just $5, you can get the digital version. As I mentioned, if you bump it up to $13 you’ll add the physical version and the sticker. You can also get concerts scheduled near you ($70 and $100 depending on the type) as well as a full house concert ($400, $600, or $1000 depending on the distance). The $500 personalized song is already gone, but $250 can get you into the next video.
What Else Is Cool
So, if Professor Shyguy doesn’t have much music out there, how do I have any idea the album will be any good? Check out his cover of Jonathan Coulton’s “Still Alive.” If the tracks on this album are half as good it’ll all be worth it!
Also, since meeting and exceeding his goal of just $400, the kind Professor (heh!) has added some other perks that are still somewhat up in the air at the moment.
I’m a little late in getting this one publicized since it ends on July 9 July 11, but you should still have time if you head over to Kickstarter now!
Well, I guess I wrote down the wrong date for the end. This one actually ends on July 11th, not July 9th. Oops!
